Mikasa cut black hair to chin-length at Eren’s suggestion. She has pale skin and depending on the lighting her eyes can be grey or blue. Her body is well-toned, with very little, if any, body fat. She also has a small scar below her right eye. She is often seen wearing a red scarf.  Her uniform consists of a short, light-brown jacket with the badge of the Survey Corps on both shoulders. On the front left pocket, and on the center of the back, a white shirt, a black sash around the waist covering the hips, white pants, and black knee-high leather boots. She also occasionally wears a green cape with the symbol of the Survey Corps after entering the faction.

When Mikasa was young she seemed to be cheerful, outgoing and yet an unusually perceptive. After a traumatic event she develops a cynical outlook on life and accepts that the world is a cruel place where only those who are strong can surviveMikasa has since become emotionally withdrawn and serious however she still cares deeply for her friends, especially Eren and Armin. She views them as the last remnants of a family she cannot afford to lose. Although she is among the best of the best, she remains humble and refrains from putting on airs or displaying arrogance. She has a strong sense of right and wrong. She tends to take Eren’s opinion very seriously. She is quite stoic and level-headed.

Mikasa is voiced by Yui Ishikawa in the Japanese (subbed) version and by Trina Nishimura in the English dub.
